Jim Pretty is a founding partner of Atherton Bailey and manages the Southampton office. A fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Jim trained with Ernst & Young in London. After opting to specialise in insolvency, he worked in the London offices of Grant Thornton and BDO Stoy Hayward.
Following a spell working in corporate recovery in Auckland, New Zealand, in the early 1990s, Jim returned to his native Hampshire and set up the Southampton office in 2002 under the predecessor firm to Atherton Bailey. This office now specialises in personal insolvency as well as business rescue and recovery.
A keen golfer for 40 years, Jim is an active member of the Hockley Golf Club, near Winchester. In his spare time Jim is a governor of his children's school, Chandlers Ford Infants School.
